ABMB @ MBCC

Today official opening for VIP at ABMB located at MBCC. I mean Art Basel Miami Beach at Miami Beach Convention Center.

Press accreditation from 12 PM for the non-registered on line. I sneaked on the booths yesterday. There is couple of nice works from German, US, Japanese, Chinese artists and few French as usual. I bought couple of pieces already. You would never know with the "buyers" of great collectors coming before on the fairs...

The official opening of galleries in Wynwood yesterday showed good quality. A big social event with nice art at PanAmerican Projects was the beginning of my visits.

Then, I came to Lelia Mordoch Gallery following my insider view at Red Dot. Their booth was one of the good ones of this fair. The works of Franck Loret might be feather weight and really resistant. But, it is mainly a new "lexicon" of symbols really meaningful and poetical. The "Black sun" of Alain Le Boucher was another step in artistical poetry. The rest of the booth and at the gallery gave more sensation to me.

Tonight at Wynwood would be a great party everywhere with art and beverages. But, art wil win in its attractivity.

Fever smoke on the ocean

Miami is waking up...

After a dinner with friends, I stopped by for a cocktail at Shore Club outside. It was busy and well attended by "nice" people in the Miami Style. The young and cute were there. The fact I noticed the stylish people came from friends from Europe, who noticed what is our everyday life.

The bed where I used to lie on the terrace was taken. This is a sign for me of a nice busy saturday before ABMB.

I had already talk with some gallerists and artists ready to enter the Box ring to win in this fight club during this hectic frenzy week.

What I read today from Perrotin press information was the commissioned portrait project by Murakami.

Being portrayed by Murakami is good. But, in my case, I prefer the painting I bought of him rather than seeing my face everyday in a frame.

Emmanuel P. was enhancing the following of Wahrol's line to make such works. There is aswell with Van Dongen such a way to develop the "Portrait Mondain". It has been done before and it would still exist in many years. But, the real question for me more about Murakami is: Is it a lack of inspiration, a need of more financial security or a real part of his work where he could explore more creativity?

ABMB D day-X?

I don't even know when it will really start.

But, at least, even if the city is still quiet and you don't have yet to carry your Ipad and business cards on you in order to make your arty duty, you feel the energy of next week coming with the official opening of Art Basel Miami Beach.

Still in bermuda and flip flop, I am ready for any party, visiting or even better private viewing of selling works to start. Tomorrow for sure a MOCA or art foundation would do something to introduice us to the arty Basli week with greeting mitanand. You never know if some of my friends from Shakira to Margulies might call me urgently to set up a high flying party

A few weeks of not high-buying make me almost "rusty".
